Certificate in Pastoral Supervision

Participants need to have experience of being in supervision as well as supervising others and be willing to share their supervisory experience with the training group.

Spread over nine days this course blends interactive workshops (face to face and online) with independent study. The course is o;ered in partnership with the Carmelites at Boars Hill Retreat Centre, Oxford.

The course aims to support trainees:

  • Become grounded in current supervisory theories and frameworks and attend to the hidden dynamics within the supervisory relationship

  • Work ethically, recognising the interpersonal, organisational, and professional challenges posed by supervision and reflective practice

  • Attend to the hidden dynamics within the supervisory relationship

  • Attain the necessary skill and confidence to supervise in a wide range of contexts

  • Progress (if desirable) toward accreditation as a supervisor with the Association for Pastoral Supervision and Education (APSE) www.pastoralsupervision.org.uk
